We know tablets come in handy when it is for a student.

We have done the research intensively and searched around the web to provide you with a good list of the best but affordable tablets.

To make it easy for you, our best and favorite one is Panasonic Tab 8 HD Tablet. To get a better gist as to why this is our first choice you have to read through our selection of TOP 5 TABLETS UNDER RS. 10000/-

Our criterias of Selection for Tablets under Rs. 10000

We understand that not many premium functions are available under Rs. 10000, so we have limited ourselves with the important ones.

This does not mean that these tablets are not worth the money or will not be good enough for students, rather we recommend these tablets as they are pocket-friendly and works like a charm.

What we are saying is that these will help you in your journey and you should not compare these budget-friendly tablets with the other costly tablets available in the market.

However, two things should be noted that :

  1. No stylus is supported by these entry-level tablets.
  2. These are budget tablets so don’t expect too much out of them. These are selected and well suited for students only and not for tech or entertainment enthusiasts.

Here are our criteria of Selection of Tablets for UPSC aspirants keeping in mind the price range :

  • Screen size: Should be at least 8 inches
  • Screen Quality: at least HD display
  • Sound Quality should be good (Dolby preferred)
  • Good Battery Backup
  • Good processor: able to do multitasking
  • RAM: at least 2 GB

Best Tablets Under Rs.10000

5. Lenovo Tab4 8 Tablet (, Wi-Fi + 2G LTE)

  • 5MP primary camera and 2MP front-facing camera
  • Android v7.0 Nougat and dual SIM (nano+nano) dual-standby (4G+4G)
  • 4850mAH lithium-ion battery providing talk-time of 20 hours
  • 8 inch HD IPS display and Dolby Atoms audio, DUal Speakers perfect for immersive entertainment
  • Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 quad-core 64 bit, up to 1.4 GHz
  • 2 GB of RAM and 16 GB of storage
  • Multi-account android tablet

Our thoughts about this product :

The display is IPS HD and is better for reading but the resolution is not full HD so not too good for entertainment as it has less pixel density and might be possible that your phone provides a better display for watching high-quality videos.

But as we said we are looking for a budget tablet that is good for studying and IPS display is an applaudable feature.

Although it has dual Dolby atmos speakers so the sound quality is actually good.

It does not have a metallic design so it won’t be looking too premium as of the Lenovo Tab M8 HD Tablet (detailed review below)

However, it does not look dull and the back panel is fingerprint-resistant & in Matt finish. So overall this tablet looks good.

The battery is 4850 Mah but it provides good backup support.

The memory you get with this TAB is 16GB out of which 8GB can be used. However, you have the option of a memory card so the memory would not be an issue.

This tab has dual sim hybrid slots so that you can use it as an alternative to mobile and keep reading your books and notes on the go.

We recommend this over the previous one because of its sim connectivity feature and that too 4G with an extra 600 Rs.

4. Lenovo Tab M8 HD Tablet (Wi-Fi Only)

Features of this Tab are as follows :

  • 8MP primary camera with autofocus 8 mp rear camera and 2MP front-facing camera
  • 20.32 centimeters (8-inch) with 1280 X 800 pixels resolution
  • Android v9 Pie operating system with 2.0Ghz MediaTek Helio A22 Tab processor, 2GB RAM, 32GB internal memory expandable up to 128GB
  • 5000mAH lithium-ion polymer battery
  • The sleek and premium metallic body design
  • Vivid 8″ IPS (1280 x 800) LCD, 350 nits capacitive 10 points multitouch
  • Dolby audio support for immersive sound experience along with long-lasting battery delivering up to 18 hours web browsing time
  • Latest Android 9 Pie Go Edition with 2.0 GHz Mediatek Quad-core processor for ultra-fast and smooth browsing experience
  • TUV certified display that cuts down harmful blue light to protect your eyes

Our thoughts about this product :

This variant is WIFI only without any sim card but it has a brother which comes with 4G support and all other features are same as above with the price of RS. 10250/-. Have a look at it here

What makes this tablet on our list is its IPS display with 10 points multi-touch. That means the viewing angles would be amazing and would not dim when seen from sides. It will be good for reading.

The Dolby audio support is another good feature so the sound output is loud but due to the single speaker, it is not much of entertainment quality. However, the presence of a headphone jack covers this issue.

The metallic design makes it look premium.

The camera quality is a decent one and not too good. The front camera clicks not so good pictures and for the back camera as long as you are not zooming the picture quality is good.

The performance is good for its price and competes with Samsung Galaxy Tab A-8.0.

The battery life is amazing and can last up to 24 hours.

3.Samsung Galaxy Tab A 8.0″ 32 GB Wifi

  • Entertainment ready: An 8.0 inches display immerses you in content, and dual speakers deliver spacious surround sound
  • Binge ready Battery: Browse, watch or shop for up to 13 hours on a full charge (5100mah)
  • Room for everything: Keep your favorite songs, photos, or videos, thanks to 32GB of built-in memory; Plus expand your storage up to 512GB anytime with a Micro SD card

Our thoughts about this product :

This Tab has a plastic frame with a metal back having dual-tone so it feels like a premium Tablet but not as premium as full metal body tablets. However, this won’t make the tablet less gorgeous.

We found this tablet design the most premium but the Lenovo Tab M8 HD Tablet. took the flag for design.

The display used is TFT and not an IPS one so it is not the most amazing display as compared to other tablets but a good one according to the budget. We like the dark mode though.

Talking about the cameras: Back camera is decent and can shoot full HD videos but we didn’t like the front camera picture quality. However, there would be no problem with video call quality.

It comes with Android 10, so in this criteria, this tab gets a heads up.

It has a 5100mah battery so there won’t be an issue of constantly charging the tablet.

The audio quality is amazing. It’s loud and the dual speakers do their work nicely.

We recommend this tablet as solely for the students and not meant for a high level of entertainment enthusiasts.

2.Lenovo Tab M10 HD Tablet (Wi-Fi Only)

  • 5MP primary camera with auto focus and 2MP front facing camera
  • 25.65 centimeters (10.1-inch) capacitive touchscreen with 1280 x 800 pixels resolution
  • Android v9 Pie operating system with 2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 429 Quad Core processor, 2GB RAM, 32GB internal memory expandable up to 32GB
  • 4850mAH lithium-ion battery
  • 1 year manufacturer warranty for device and 6 months manufacturer warranty for in-box accessories including batteries from the date of purchase
  • Powerful processor – Qualcomm Snapdragon 429 Octa core 2.0 GHz for quick and smooth multitasking, 2 GB RAM, 32 GB Internal memory expandable upto 256 GB, Latest Android Pie OS
  • 10.1 ” HD IPS with Capacitive 10 point Multi touch, dual front facing speakers with Dolby Audio for immersive video and audio experience

Our thoughts about this product :

We have chosen this one specifically due to its display size and quality. This tablet is having the largest display size in its price segment that too an IPS one.

This would make reading and taking classes more convenient for students.

However, this does not have SIM connectivity and only has wifi support.

But because of display size and Dolby audio quality, this tablet is in 2nd position.

This tablet is an upgrade to the Lenovo Tab M8 HD Tablet.

1. Panasonic Tab 8 HD Tablet (Our Favourite)

  • 8MP primary camera with LED Flash | 5MP front camera
  • 20.32 CM (8 Inch) Touchscreen | Resolution HD+ (1280 x 800)
  • 3GB RAM | 32GB Internal Memory expandable up to 512GB | Dual SIM (Nano+Nano) 4G LTE
  • Android Pie v9.0 Operating System with Mediatek 2.0 GHz Octa-Core Processor | 5100mAh Battery | FM
  • In the Box: Tablet (Inclusive of Battery), Travel Adapter, USB Cable, Quick-Start Guide, Sim Ejection Pin, TPU Cover & Warranty Card

Our thoughts about this product :

This is the only tablet in this price range that we liked, comes with an octa-core processor and 3GB of RAM.

The processing is gonna be smooth as compared to other tablets.

This is also the only tablet that comes with an 8MP camera with LED Flash and a 5MP front camera.

It is a great tablet for day-to-day activities involving multitasking, light gaming, video calls, reading, classes, etc.

Its design is also elegant and comes in a metallic build.

Talking about the sound quality, it has dual speakers and the output is loud and clear.

The battery is 5100Mah and the best thing about this tablet is that it comes with a 15W fast charger and TYPE C charging cable, (other tablets provide the normal charger)

The surprise is you get the earphones too.

As compared to Samsung Galaxy Tab A 8.0 this one is cheaper with lots of additional features like Dual LTE support which is not present in Samsung Galaxy Tab A 8.0.

This is our best pick and we recommend this tablet over the others due to the features like octa-core processor, LED flash, 3GB RAM, TYPE C charger, Dual Sim support, 5MP front camera just in Rs. 8999/- only.

Conclusion

These are our top selections for tablets under Rs. 10000 and we recommend (again) if you want to buy a decent quality tablet with the most features, Panasonic Tab 8 HD Tablet is the one.

Other tablets are also good seeing the budget, but we provided them so that you will be able to compare the details better.
